Join ChurchKey this Wednesday, February 10, 2010 for an evening of Hand-Crafted Classic Californian Cask Ales. Vice President of Stone Brewing Company, Arlan Arnsten will be on hand to tell everyone a little bit about his brews, 3 or which will be featured on our Real Ale beer engines.
STONE BREWS ON CASK:
LEVITATION ALE:
This deep amber ale has rich malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones, and modest alcohol (only 4.4 %!!!!). This is Stone’s tribute to Session beer, and fittingly will be dispensed via the hand-pump!
SMOKED PORTER:
This beer pours a gorgeous deep mahogany, crowned by a creamy head. Dark, smooth, and complex, with rich coffee and chocolate flavors, balanced by a subtle smokiness. 5.9 % ABV.
ARROGANT BASTARD:
The quintessential American Strong Ale. Aggressive at every turn, with huge malty richness somehow in balance with the massive hop assault…a benchmark in American Craft Brewing. 7.2 % ABV.

Clipper City Brewing Company – Heavy Seas

Clipper City Brewing Company is Baltimore’s largest brewery, producing over 14 styles of ales and lagers, which are distributed over 18 states. Clipper City has one hundreds of international, national and regional awards, and still remain true to their mission of “bringing back the local brewery.”
Clipper City’s founder, Hugh Sisson, opened Sisson’s brewpub in 1989, and brought craft beer into the Baltimore spotlight. In 1995, he develped Clipper City, in order to take this newfound love for craft beer to the next level.
The “next level” can best be explained by Clipper City’s brand “Heavy Seas.” Heavy Seas is arguably the most recognizable brand among the two, and takes Clipper City’s brews to the extreme front. The beers are bottled conditioned, leaving a small amount of live yeast in order to naturally carbonate the beer and adding subtlety and complexity to each brew.
Clipper City Beers:
Clipper City Gold Ale
Clipper City MärzHon
Clipper City Pale Ale

Heavy Seas Beers:
